Width. For the best noise reduction the curtain needs to fall in natural folds, so the actual curtain width must be greater than the area you want to cover. Just follow the “made to cover” figure: a 200 cm curtain, for example, effectively covers about 98–110 cm. If you are unsure, click here to find the right width in about 10 seconds.
Our soundproof curtains are 10–12 mm thick and built from several sound-absorbing layers.
Despite their dense, multi-layered construction, Sound Escape curtains weigh just 950 g/m². A curtain measuring 250 × 150 cm therefore weighs approximately 3.56 kg. They can be supported without any difficulty by a standard curtain pole or track.

As the decibel meter shows, closing the curtain reduced the sound level from 77.6 dB to around 50.1 dB. A reduction of more than 27 dB in real-world conditions. This is thanks to the curtain’s dense materials and thick, multi-layered design.

The back of our curtains has a silver surface that reduces reverberation.
If you would rather cover that side for appearance, choose “Yes” under “Make both sides of the curtain look identical?”. Both sides of your curtain will then look identical.
Covering the silver side does not affect noise reduction.
