Our curtains work best when the fabric falls in natural folds. Those folds are what make the noise reduction effective.
That is why the actual curtain width should be roughly twice the width you want to cover.
There is around 2 cm of fabric above the eyelets. Adding those 2 cm means the curtain covers the full drop you wanted.
If there is a radiator under the window, the curtain should stop just above it. That keeps the heat flowing into the room and protects the fabric.
In that case the curtain should not reach the floor. With eyelets, measure from the top of the pole to the top of the radiator; with hooks, measure from the bottom of the track gliders. Then subtract 5 cm.
