Do you need help choosing the dimensions of your Sound Escape dampening curtains? This page is designed to guide you in the simplest way possible, ensuring you achieve the best noise reduction.

Choosing the Width of Your Curtain

💡 Due to their acoustic properties, our curtains slightly fold in on themselves once hung. 
For example, a curtain that is 150 cm wide is designed to cover between 66 and 85 cm.

← Here, it is important to rely on the “Effectively Covers” or “Made to Cover“.

For example, to cover 100 cm, choose a width of 200 cm. To cover 300 cm, it is ideal to opt for 2 curtains each 300 cm wide.

Choose the Width of Your Curtain

Therefore, it is important to rely on the “Made to cover” note when selecting the width of your curtain.

For example, to cover 100 cm, choose a width of 200 cm. To cover 300 cm, it is ideal to opt for 2 curtains of 300 cm each.

Choosing the DROP of Your Curtain

💡 Sound Escape offers customization of your curtains’ drop down to the exact centimeter.

→ IF Your Window Reaches the Floor

  • If you have a Curtain Rod: measure the distance from the top of your rod to the floor.
  • If you have a Curtain Track: measure the distance from the top of the hooks to the floor.

The distance obtained is the drop to choose for your Sound Escape curtains. This way, you will enjoy the best sound protection.

→ If Your Window Does Not Reach the Floor

Measure the distance between your rod (or rail) and the bottom of your window. Then, add 25 centimeters. This will be the ideal drop for your Sound Escape curtains.

This way, a part of the surface below the window will be covered, helping to optimize the attenuation of external noises.

Choose the drop of Your Curtain

💡 Sound Escape offers customization of your curtain height to the exact centimeter.

Here’s how to find the curtain drop you need:

  • If your window or door reaches the floor, ensure that the height you choose allows the curtains to reach the floor, measuring from the top of your rod or from the hooks of your track.
  • If your window does not reach the floor, we recommend adding an additional 20 to 30 centimeters so that part of the area below the window is covered. This will result in better noise reduction.
